Stampin' Up! Home To Roost

I put Home To Roost stamp set away after making yesterday's card, but this stamp set was still on my mind when I was deciding which stamp set to use today. It's a great stamp for staying connected with those you don't get to see that often, or your favorite relative you haven't seen in a while. I decided to use some of the same color combinations from yesterday, but with a few changes.

If you haven't made all of your purchase decisions during Sale-A-Bration, this is one of the "sleeper" sets that you might not have chosen as your first choice as a free Sale-a-Bration selection, but you'll be so happy you decided to add this set to your Wish List before Sale-a-Bration ends next week.  It can be yours free, with a $50 order (not including shipping and tax).

The basecard for today's card is Crumb Cake.  Then a layer of Very Vanilla stamped with the Crackle Paint background stamp with Crumb Cake ink.  Then the banner under the Rooster image  is a layer of Cherry Cobbler with a layer of Crumb Cake dry embossed with the Corrugated Embossing Folder.  Once embossed, I used a Sponge Dauber to lightly ink the ridges of this layer with Crumb Cake ink.

The banner under the Rooster image has a piece of uses a piece of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim, a carry over from the Holiday catalog, tied in a double bow.  The image layer is a circle of Very Vanilla die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The rooster image is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The reeds are stamped off once using Crumb Cake ink.  The sentiment is also from the Home To Roost Stamp Set and it is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.   I colored three Share What You Love Artisan Pearls with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker, an then added them as accents to the image layer and sentiment.  Below is what yesterday's card and today's cards look like together.

You'll enjoy creating original cards with the Home To Roost stamp set with its thoughtful sentiments.  Although we live in a world run by digital communications, a card sent through postal mail can mean a lot to both the sender and the recipient.  It means more than an email, an e-card or even a phone call.  Brighten some one's day with snail mail in a decorated envelope addressed to someone you want to feel your special love.   You can earn this free Sale-A-Bration selection -- Home To Roost -- free with a $50 order, placed by March 31.
