Stampin' Up! Happy Tails Stamp Set

Today's card is a redo of a version of this card that I did earlier in the year.  Hence, Happy Tails are here again...This is such an adorable stamp set with a coordinating Punch.   Dogs have become so much a part of our families, that we definitely need cards to celebrate our furry friends  You can find this Stamp Set on page 195 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

The base card today is thick Whisper White  Then a layer of Granite Gray.  Then I stamped another layer of Whisper White with the Buffalo Check Background stamp using Granite Gray Ink.  I love how this background stamp gives me any color of Buffalo Check background I need for my card designs.  One tip:  When using the Buffalo Check background stamp, lay it stamp side up on your work surface.  Then ink it so you can be sure it is thoroughly inked.  Then lay your Whisper White cardstock on top of the background stamp and cover it with scratch paper.  Use your bone folder to ensure your cardstock is inked well.  This technique also ensures that your checks are straight because you can see where you are placing your cardstock.

Then I stamped the dog image in Gray Granite on Whisper White, and punched him with the coordinating Dog Builder Punch.  This punch also punches the Real Red heart I added to the dog.

I then used the Stitched Be Mine Dies to create the heart and the scalloped heart.  I used the paw stamp from the Happy Tails Stamp Set to stamp paws on the large heart.

To add the sentiment, I stamped it in Versamark and then covered it with White Emboss Powder, and set it with my heat tool.  If you like this set, you'll probably love the Nine Lives cat stamp set and coordinating punch.  With Halloween on the way, and you'll find lots of uses for these two sets.
