Stampin' Up! Winter Woods Stamp Set

Back in August, shortly after demonstrators received their preorders, I first began to play with the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set from the Wrapped in Plaid Suite.  Today's card is another version of my original card, which has been posted to hundreds of Pinterest boards by visitors to my blog and visitors to my Pinterest boards since I first posted it back in August.  I decided it was time to do another version, since this one was so popular.  This is one of those cards that goes together in minutes that you can produce in bulk as you get down to the wire as Christmas seems to approach more quickly every year.

You can quickly save images from my blog to your favorite Pinterest boards by simply clicking on the red Pinterest Save button in the upper left corner of any photo on my blog.  It is a real time-saver when you get ready to spend a little time in your craft room and want to quickly reference ideas you've seen and liked.

I used a base card of Shaded Spruce for today's card.  Then a layer of Whisper White.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the Wrapped in Plaid 6" X 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the Whisper White image layer, I first used the Pine Tree Punch and punched the tree so the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper showed through the opening. Then I used a sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set t Stamp Merry Christmas  Then I selected a small image from the Woven Heirloom Stamp Set as an accent.

The Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8" Striped Ribbon  is tied in a bow.  The accents are the new Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, which became available November 1.  They aren't in the catalog, but you can see them in my on-line store.  Use item # 152155.

You'll love having this card design in your favorites as we get closer to Christmas holidays.  It goes together quickly, and you'll love using your Perfectly Plaid stamp said and Pin Tree Punch to quickly make as many as you need for friends and family.

Purple Posy Ink To Be Discontinued

Earlier today, Stampin' Up announced that the following items are being discontinued.

  • Purple Posy Classic Stampin' Pad (Item 150084)
  • Purple Posy Classic Stampin' Ink Refill (Item 150091)
  • 2019-2021 In Color Classic Stampin' Pad Assortment (Item 15087)

They said:  "Despite out efforts to resolve issues with Purple Posy Ink, we have learned that the ink color is still shifting over time.  This means that the color is coordinating more loosely than we typically allow with our colors. Due to these ongoing challenges, we have decided to discontinue Purple Posy classic ink.

All of Stampin' Up!'s exclusive ink colors are run through a vigorous series of test to get ahead of challenges like this, and to ensure colors are accurate and meet our standards of coordination.  Purple Posy did pass regular testing standards in time-simulating ovens, but we have now identified that it fell short when it came to actual time passing.  The color begins to shift once the ink has rested in the ink pad for about six weeks.

It is rare for Stampin' Up! or our ink manufacturer to have such persistent issues with ink; Purple Posy has certainly been an anomaly.  We completed full testing on 11 distinct batches of Purple Posy Classic Stampin' Ink before releasing the current version.  We are now confident that no additional efforts would uphold our coordinating needs over time.  We appreciate your patience as we have worked through this manufacturing difficulty and regret that we are unable to share better news."

While Stampin' Up! is unable to replace Purple Posy ink pads, anyone with color shifting properties of their Purple Posy ink pad may contact Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Support (1-800-Stampup or DS@Stampinup.com) and we can offer a $7.50 USD coupon code as compensation.  The coupon codes will expire on January 1, 2020."

I personally haven't experienced problems with my Purple Posy ink pad, but my backup plan is to order a set of the In Color Stampin' Write Markers for 2019-2021, which includes a Purple Posy marker.  That way, I can color my stamps with the Purple Posy Stampin' Write Markers whenever I want to use Purple Posy to coordinate with on my projects.  Use item #150079.
