Stampin' Up! Festive Post Stamp Set

I love fall colors.  Rich, bold colors.  Today I was feeling particularly messy and decided to create my own Designer Series Paper using Blends Markers and Water Painter splatters.  I used two stamp sets:  The trees from Life is Beautiful and images from the Festive Post Stamp Sets.  I added a few sequins from the Sequins for Everything pack and a black ribbon, and decided that I was done!

The basecard for this card is Basic Black.  Then a layer of Cajun Craze.  Then I went to work on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I used the brush ends of Blends markers and created diagonal lines, using Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends, Light Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends, and Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.  It looked a bit stark when I finished so I filled a Water Painter Thick with water and used a clear block to create a puddle of Cajun Craze ink and splattered it randomly on the striped Whisper White cardstock.  It still looked too stark so I used the Water marker to add a few swirled brush strokes to the paper.  I decided to stop there.

Then I selected the tree from the Life is Beautiful Stamp set and Stamped it once in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and again in Cinnamon Cider Ink.  The trees needed grounding, so I used the stamp from the Life is Beautiful Stamp set along with Crumb Cake ink to add a shadow on the ground.  Next time, I think I'll try stamping off Cinnamon Cider ink to use as a shadow.

To complete the card, I created a panel of Whisper White and stamped the three booms from the Festive Post Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black memento.  Then I die cut a scallop, stitched rectangle using one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create a vellum overlay on top of the three brooms.  I stamped the October 31 stamp from the Festive Post in Cajun Craze on the Vellum die cut and attached it with blue dots hidden behind the letters.  Then I selected several Cinnamon Cider sequins from the Sequins for Everything package, from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog and added several to the card front.  My first Halloween card of the season!

You'll see more samples for using the Festive Post set on page 63 of the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  Add this stamp set  to your Shopping List today.  If you earned Bonus days Coupons during July, it's time to redeem them.  You've got until 31 August 2020 to redeem your coupon codes.

Unboxing the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

The new annual catalog carries the new Stampi' Cut & Emboss Machine, but until this month, demonstrators have not been able to order it.  That all change on August 4.  Demonstrators are able to order the full size machine, and in September, customers will be able to place orders for the full size machine.  We are still waiting to hear when the Mini Stampin' Cut & emboss Machine will be available.

I love that the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine comes so well packages.  Although there were dings and holes on the outside of my box, the inside contents were extremely well protected and all items arrived in perfect condition.

The top of the box includes all of the plates need to get started along with a Quick Start Guide.  It includes 1 Base Plate, 1 Die Plate, 2 Cutting Plates and 1 Specialty Plate. These plates are numbered; 1- 4.  Two additional plates will be available soon:  The magnetic cutting plate (Plate 5)  and the Impression Mat, which includes 1 thick Impression Mat and 1 thin Impression Mat to use with dies that have decorative ejection holes for detailed embossing.

Attached the handle and place the nut and screw to hold the handle in place.

I turned the machine on its side and found it easy to assemble the handle using the included wrench.   Also included is a small black cap, which you place over the opening of the handle once it is tightened in place.

The platforms folds out, and easily folds in for space-saving storage.  It includes rubber feet to grip your work surface, and a comfortable handle for moving your machine to different locations.

While all of the plates to get started come with the machine, you'll soon be able to order replacements and additional plates.  Take a closer look at the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machines on page 170-172 of the annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  Then, get ready to order your new machine in September.
