Its hard to complete with fireworks, parades, barbecues, and the family fun of July 4th Celebrations.  Yet for a crafter, its a joy to create themed cards using dies and stamps sets you have in your stash.  Today I created a red, white and blue card using the Delicate Edges Dies and a sentiment from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set.  Of course I used Holiday colors of Real Red, Night of Navy and Basic white.  I also grabbed one of my favorite retired dies called Stitched Stars Dies, that includes a variety of sizes of stars and worked perfectly with my idea for todays card.  Independence day is a great occasions to celebrate the freedom fighters and their supreme contributions to our freedoms.  It is a great day to show our patriotism. Enjoy your celebrations!

Today's card started with Four Real Red die cuts using one of the images in the Stampin' Up! Delicate Edges dies.  I think they looked very much like the stripes in our flag in motion.  I layered these on a basecard of Basic White Cardstock.

Then I used cut a piece of Night of Navy and added it to the upper left corner of the card. 

   

I layered a number of Basic White stars to the Night of Navy piece.  I used an old favorite, the Stitched Stars Dies, a retired set that I don't ever plan to stop using.  It includes stars in a number of sizes and worked perfectly on this card.  I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and added a small red star to the ed of the sentiment shape.  I used a die from the Potted Succulent Dies to create the sentiment label.
