- Stampin' Up Pretty Pillowbox Dies for fun Fall Treat Holders

It's always fun when you find new ways to use your Dies. I love the Stampin' Up! Pretty Pillow Box, so, when I came across this cute Fall Treat Holder idea using Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper and the Stampin' Up Pretty Pillowbox Dies, I knew I had to CASE it. That's also one of the advantages of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. There are Demonstrator-only Facebook and other social media sites where demonstrators share their creations and sometimes even tutorials with other demonstrators. Fellow Demonstrator, Lynda Emerson, was kind enough to share this cute idea with us. The treat holder uses Cajun Craze bases die cut using the Stampin' Up! Petty Pillowbox Dies. It is decorated with a Cajun Craze plaid print from the Regals 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper, and images from the Rustic Harvest 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper. It includes a small open box for holding candy or small gift items, and would work perfectly for Halloween or Thanksgiving or as a table place card for Fall holiday meals.
The treat holder begins with a box base made from a 5-1/2" X 7" piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock. It is scored at 2" all the way around and then cut up on the 7-1/4" sides to the score line in the center. Crease the score line with a bone folder, and then fold the sides to form a box 1-1/2 wide X 3-1/4 X 2" high. I secured the folded sides with Tear and Tape Adhesive, which holds better than multipurpose glue for three-dimensional items.
Then, I die cut two of the Pretty Pillowboxes from Cajun Craze Cardstock. I used the smallest circle in the Stylish Shape dies to cut the holes in each of the pillow box shapes. You only need the top 3-3/4" of the pillowbox die cut. I used a paper trimmer to cut the pillow box shape at the bottom fold line at the 3-1/2" mark. You can get two of the pillowbox pieces needed from a 5-1/2" X 8-1/2" piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock.
Then, select a piece of Plaid Cajun Craze print from the Regals 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper. Cut it to 3" X 5", and using the Pretty Pillowbox Die, cut only the center piece of the Petty Pillowbox Die to get a piece to decorate your Treat Holder. You can use your trimmer to cut your piece at the scorelines at the top and bottom of your die cut piece so it fits the Cajun Craze base piece.
To finished decorating your Fall Treat Holder, use the scallops from the Penned Flowers Die to die cut a border of Cajun Craze scallop for the top of the Designer Series Paper. Then, fussy cut a pumpkin and leaves from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. Glue the pumpkin to a die cut a sentiment label. Use the sentiment label in the Pretty Pillowbox Dies set. Stamp a sentiment in Cajun Craze ink from the Ranunculus Romance Stamp Set, and add two Evening Evergreen Opal Rounds to the Sentiment label.
