Birthday Card idea using Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies

  • Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies
  • Upcoming Paper Pumpkin Procrastinators Meetup - Oct 13, 2022
  • Join Stampin' Up! during October and get $155 in merchandise for $99
I wasn't done playing with the Warm Welcome Stamp Set following World Cardmaking Day.  I still had a number of kits cut that I hadn't assembled, so I quickly put together another version of the card layout we used for World Card Making Day.  I love the variety of occasions this set can be used for.  I decided to make these pieces into a birthday card.  I used a Fresh Freesia base card, then I added a layer Mint Macaron and finally my image layer is Basic White.  Then I stamped the door and door frame onto another piece of Basic White, stamped the flowers, cat and sentiment images in Tuxedo Black Ink, and used a combination of colored pencils and blends to color the images.   I added a little bling with a twine bow and Opal Rounds on the sentiment and used as a door handle.

Today's card uses a basecard of Fresh Freesia Cardstock.  Then I added a layer of Mint Macaron Cardstock.  Then my image layer is Basic White.

Next, I stamped the door frame in Mint Macaron ink on another piece of Basic White, and colored the door panels with Fresh Freesia and Mint Macaron ink pads and Blending Brushes.  When finished coloring, I used the Warm Welcome Dies to die cut the door frame.  I also stamped the cat and the arm with flower bouquet in Tuxedo Black  Memento Ink, colored both with a combination of Blends and Water Color Pencils, and then die cut them using the Warm Welcome Dies.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a piece of Mint Macaron, and cut tails into one end.  Then I created a Twine bow and used Glue Dots to attach it.  For a little bling, I used two Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds on the edge of the sentiment, and as a door knob.

Stampin' Up! Splendid Day Suite and Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set

  • Stampin' Up! Splendid Thoughts Bundle
  • Wash background created with White Craft Ink and Water Painters
  • Join Stampin' Up! during October and get $155 in merchandise for $99
One of the fun things about being a Demonstrator is the great time Demonstrates have when they get together with one another and our stamping leaders from the Stampin' Up! home office.  Today two of my favorite Demonstrator Development Managers (DDMs) from Stampin' Up!, held a Mystery Card virtual Facebook event with over 1,500 demonstrators attending.  They give us all of the card dimensions and a list of supplies we would use so we could precut our cardstock and collect our supplies before the event began.  Then, we all completed our cards together, learning new techniques, and sharing the unique twists each of us add to our versions of the card. We're going to get together once a week during the month of October for these fun stamping-together events.  Although I love to get together in-person with my stampin' friends, sometimes its nice to just enjoy my own craft studio and follow along with someone else leading us in new ideas or stamping techniques.

Today, we used White Craft ink and our Water Painters to create a "washed" background on Crumb Cake Cardstock.  Then using Early Espresso, Fresh Freesia, and one of the foils from Splendid Day Designer Series Paper, to create a lovely card that works for so many special occasions.  We used the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and White Embossing powder to create the floral image on Fresh Freesia  Cardstock.  Then we used the coordinating Splendid Stems Dies to create additional die cuts to add additional florals to our card. I created a Basic White label for my sentiment using the Meadow Dies, and stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede.  I added a bow of Baker's Twine and a few of the In Color Opal Rounds for a little bling.  I love that you can change the sentiment and use this card for so many different occasions.

Today's card uses a basecard of Crumb Cake.  Then I added a layer of Early Espresso cardstock.  Then another layer of Crumb Cake washed with White Craft ink using Water Painters.  We used the White Craft reinker to add a few drops of ink in the lid of the White Craft inkpad, then added a few drops of water from our Water Painter, mixed the two, and used the Water Painter to cover our Crumb Cake layer with the mixture.  While waiting for the washed layer to dry, I created the die cuts for my card.

I used the Splendid Stems Dies and die cut one element from Early Espresso cardstock.  Then I used a smaller floral element die and the pink foil from Splendid Day Designer Series Paper to die cut a smaller floral to layer on the Early Espresso die cut.  On the Fresh Freesia Cardstock piece, I stamped a floral image in White Craft ink from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set, covered it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with my Heat Tool.  I also created a stitched boarder on one side of the Fresh Freesia piece using one of the banners from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Two versions of a greeting card using Stampin' Up! Splendid Day Suite

To finish the card, I added a Baker's Twine bow to the base of the two die cut floral pieces.  I die cut a sentiment banner using the Meadow Dies, and stamped the sentiment from Go To Greetings Stamp Set  in Soft Suede ink.  I find that Early Espresso is just a bit darker than I like for sentiments.  I also added three 2021-2023 Opal Rounds to the Fresh Freesia piece.  You'll note that the two cards, above, are similar, but each have slight differences.  The card on the bottom is closer to the card we made for the Mystery Card Stamping Virtual Event.  I added a 7/8" Natural Finish Ribbon for a little more personality to the card.  To the upscaled card on the top, I added an additional Early Espresso layer which is more my personal style.

The Splendid Day Suite will be used for Demonstrator-only Mystery Card weekly stamping events the entire month of October. These are the kind of fun activities Demonstrators from around the world participate in together.  Of course we have plenty of live stampin' events as well.  From local Demonstrator-led events to yearly Demonstrator-only conventions, Leadership events, and several customers and demonstrator virtual events like the recent World Card Making Day on 1 October.  If you enjoy paper crafting, this month is a great time to consider joining Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator and participating in all the the fun with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and customers.  Take a look at the special Joining Offer below.
