Birthday Card idea using Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies

  • Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies
  • Upcoming Paper Pumpkin Procrastinators Meetup - Oct 13, 2022
  • Join Stampin' Up! during October and get $155 in merchandise for $99
I wasn't done playing with the Warm Welcome Stamp Set following World Cardmaking Day.  I still had a number of kits cut that I hadn't assembled, so I quickly put together another version of the card layout we used for World Card Making Day.  I love the variety of occasions this set can be used for.  I decided to make these pieces into a birthday card.  I used a Fresh Freesia base card, then I added a layer Mint Macaron and finally my image layer is Basic White.  Then I stamped the door and door frame onto another piece of Basic White, stamped the flowers, cat and sentiment images in Tuxedo Black Ink, and used a combination of colored pencils and blends to color the images.   I added a little bling with a twine bow and Opal Rounds on the sentiment and used as a door handle.

Today's card uses a basecard of Fresh Freesia Cardstock.  Then I added a layer of Mint Macaron Cardstock.  Then my image layer is Basic White.

Next, I stamped the door frame in Mint Macaron ink on another piece of Basic White, and colored the door panels with Fresh Freesia and Mint Macaron ink pads and Blending Brushes.  When finished coloring, I used the Warm Welcome Dies to die cut the door frame.  I also stamped the cat and the arm with flower bouquet in Tuxedo Black  Memento Ink, colored both with a combination of Blends and Water Color Pencils, and then die cut them using the Warm Welcome Dies.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a piece of Mint Macaron, and cut tails into one end.  Then I created a Twine bow and used Glue Dots to attach it.  For a little bling, I used two Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds on the edge of the sentiment, and as a door knob.

Another card idea using Warm Welcome Stamp Set

  • Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies
  • Register for the FREE virtual October 1 World Card Making Day event
  • Or, Join us in NW Houston for a free Watch Party for World Card Making Day event
I'm having so much fun with the new stamp set Stampin' Up! made available for early ordering for World Cardmaking Day, 1 October.  As I've mentioned previously in an earlier post, this is a new stamp set from the upcoming January-June 2023 Mini Catalog that we're able to order NOW, to make cards this Saturday, during World Card Making Day. Everyone can attend Stampin' Up! Virtual World Card Making Day for FREE.  While I've used some of the elements from this set to create a card previously, today was the first time I used the door elements and several other pieces from this bundle.  I decided on a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Hues of Happiness pack.  Then I created a Night of Navy background with a Sweet Sorbet boarder for the Designer Series Paper, and I used it for the door frame.  I stamped the door pieces and cat and sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and then added highlights or coloring with Blends Alcohol-based Markers.  I love the little numbers and placards that are part of this set, which allowed me to add my house number on a placard to personalized the card.  This bundle has soooo many cute elements in both the stamp set and the dies that you'll find yourself reaching for this set for many occasions.  Its great for welcoming new neighbors, to announce an Open House, celebrate a birthday or special occasions, or use it to say "hello" and invite a friend for coffee.      You can use this with Cardstock Colors or Designer Series Papers.  I'm sure this will be one of my most used sets from the upcoming Spring Mini catalog...And we can order it and begin using it now.  The item number for the Warm Welcome Bundle is 160704.  Add it to your Shopping List today!  And join us 1 October, this Saturday, for Stampin' Up! World Card Making Day to find more ways to use the Warm Welcome Bundle.

Greeting card inviting someone to visit using Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Stamp Set | Item 160704

Today's card uses a basecard of Night of Navy Cardstock.  then a layer of Sweet Sorbet.  Then a print from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper Pack.

Card with an inviting open door and smiling cat using Stampin' Up! Warm Welcome Bundle

I used the Warm Welcome Bundle to stamp and die cut several images for my card. I stamped the door, the cat and the sentiment all in Night of Navy ink and die cut them using dies from the Warm Welcome Dies.  I used the door stamp to also stamp on Crush Curry to create sunny windows, with a bit a shading with a So Saffron Blends.  The cat is colored using Smoky Slates Blend.   also used the dies to cut a small Sweet Sorbet heart for above the sentiment.

Two greeting cards using Warm Welcome Stamp Set and Dies from Stampin' Up! upcoming Spring Mini Catalog

To personalize the card, I created a Night of Navy Cardstock placard for my house number.  I backed a piece of Basic White Cardstock with Adhesive sheet and used the numbers die included in the Warm Welcome Dies to create the house numbers to use on my Placard.  I used the bow die and cut a Sweet Sorbet bow with tails to hold my placard in place.  Finally, I added a Brushed Gold Metallic Dot for my door knob.

  • Cottage Rose Bundle - Item #159048 -
  • Cottage Wreaths Bundle - Item #159659
  • Warm Welcome Bundle - Item #160704
What fun sets!  Cottage Rose is from the Annual Catalog.  Cottage Wreaths is from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.  And Warm Welcome is from the upcoming January-June 2023 Mini Catalog.  Yes!  You can purchase the Warm Welcome set before the 2023 Mini Catalog is released!

Don't have these sets?  No problem!  Find similar sets among your existing sets, and create your cards using stamps and dies you already own. For instance,  instead of Cottage Wreath, consider using Natural Prints from the Annual Catalog.  This is what I'll be using. I already have the other two sets, including the Warm Welcome Bundle the new set from the 2023 Mini Catalog, that I'm featuring on my blog today.

Project Measurements:  Before the event, use the Stampin' Up! cutting guide to precut the cardstock you'll need to make the three cards Stampin' Up! will show us how to create.  They will also show us some new techniques.

I'm cutting two sets of cardstock for each card so I can make a second card once the live event ends.  That way I'll have one card as a sample and a second card ready to send.
