Dies, Dies and More Dies makes a Masculine Valentine's Day Card

  • Stampin' Up! Stitched Be Mine Dies
  • Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • We're making a Sampler and Cards in our upcoming classes.  See below

Stampin' Up! Valentine Card

Today I wanted to make a Valentine card that was somewhat masculine, but could also be used for a female friend.  As I worked through the design, I wanted to include as much texture as possible and include some wood-tone items.  Turns out I didn't use any stamps or ink on this card, but I used many of the wonderful dies that we have available in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

The basecard for today's card is Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.  Then a layer of  Whisper White dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I created a tag out of one of the prints from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.  Then a layer of Rich Razzleberry die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Then a layer of Whisper White cut with the Layering Squares Dies.

The largest and smallest hearts were die cut using the Stitched Be Mine Dies.  The largest heart is a wood grained print from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.    The middle-sized heart was punched with one of the punches from the Heart Punch Pack from another print in the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The smallest heart is die cut out of Whisper White Cardstock.

The Valentine sentiment is from the Word Wishes Dies, and is cut from Rich Razzelberry Cardstock.  The middle-sized heart is wrapped with Linen Thread and accented with a Glitter Enamel Dot.  The smallest heart is accented with a Heart Epoxy Droplets.  The leaf is die cut using a die from the Detailed Bands Dies, and is cut from Gold Foil Sheets.  Behind the largest heart is a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon to add additional texture to the images on this card.

I'm looking through my stamp set for a small little "Be Mine" Sentiment, which I think would complete the white heart on this card, but the card works fine without it.

You'll love playing with your different Die sets to make your cards pop.  You'll love everything you make with your Stampin' Up! products.  And right now, during Sale-A-Bration, you'll be able to select, a free gift with your $50 or $100 order from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.
